Arundhati (Anushka) is the great grand daughter of the Raja of Gadwal Mahasansthan. Arrangements are being made for her marriage
. Arundhati visits her native place before marriage. Her beau (Deepak) asks her to come to the fort of Gadwal, where she faces a horrible experience. Learning the history from an aged servant maid
Chandramma (Manorama), Arundhati comes to know that she is a look alike of her great grandmother Jejamma (Anushka).
Jejamma was an expert in painting, dancing and fighting. She had an elder sister who was married off to her father's nephew Pasupati (Sonu Sood). Pasupati a womaniser used to rape the women he liked and kill those who objected. Jejamma's sister commited suicide and the people of Gadwal
thrashed Pasupati severely and tied him to his horse when they got the approval from Jejamma and her father. Though Gadwal celebrated his death, he was actually saved by Aghoras, who served the devils. Pasupati mastered the tantrik arts and entered Gadwal fort to take revenge
Jejamma who had learnt a special dance, cut off his tongue and pinned his hands at one go through her dance. She spared him to prevent him from becoming a 'pretatma'. Pasupati was buried alive in a tomb and powerful 'yantras' with inscriptions from Vedas and holy scriptures were put on it to prevent the 'pretatma' from coming out. After this revelation through flashback, a worker in a trance, unknowingly breaks the tomb and releases the 'pretatma'. The revenge drama ensues again. Anwar (Sayaji Shinde ) who treats patients through sorcery tells her that she is none other than Jejamma and asks her to fight Pasupati. From the portrait of Jejamma, Arundhati comes to know that her great grandmother had prepared a 'weapon' with her own bones and had kept it with some tribals. Anwar and Arundhati proceed to acquire the weapon, but Anwar meets with an accident.
Arundhati left with no option returns to the fort to get herself raped to prevent the death of her family members. Anwar collects the weapon and gives it to Arundhati and in the climax Pasupati dies in the hands of Arundhati.

we expect more from kodi ramakrishna's direction,but it was failed by anushka's performence was bad, there is no drum dance as they advirtised in all papers and channels, even in flashback scenes there are very few dialogues for anushka and only she does is giving poses stills if the producer had selected ramyakrishna as heroine this would have been really very good movie, to hide anushka's lack of talent director very intelligently introduced baby jejamma's character only through this the audience would know the jejamma. and the blunder of the blunder is that the reincarnation of jejamma as arundhati is very normal girl and afraid of the villain!!! even after she realised that she is incarnation of jejamma!! the director failed in connenction between many things the editing is also not good THE BEST PART OF THE MOVIE IS ONLY RAVIKUMAR'S VOICE FOR SONU SOOD, AND AS A VILLAIN SONU SOOD WAS EXCELLENT. the other characters were only for a song squence. even there no role for deepak.
KODI'S MOVIE "DEVI" WAS REALLY VERY GOOD MOVIE EVEN GRAPHICS WERE NOT GOOD IN ARUNDHATI WHEN COMPARED WITH ANJI AND DEVI. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY TOOK 45 DAYS FOR THE DRUM DANCE WHERE THERE IS NO DANCE STEPS AT ALL. REALLY WONDER WHY THEY TOOK 2 AND HALF YEARS FOR THIS. THE BLUNDER MISTAKE MADE BY THE DIRECTOR AND THE PRODUCER IS SELECTION OF THE HEROINE. MUSIC IS GOOD.
TILL ANJI MOVIE SHYAM PRASAD AND KODI' COMBINATION WAS REALLY EXCELLENT FROM NOW ON WE MUST THINK TWICE BEFORE WE WATCH. PEOPLE WHO LIKED DEVI AND ANJI DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. -

it was a wonderfull horor movie i cant understand why did the people said that its not good and about the drum dance it was simply superb if we do the dance we will know how hard it is and coming to the graphics i think it was best till know anushka really is a great artist

it was simply superb, Especially Anushka's acting is simply superb. I thinki it should be one of the movie in anushka's cine life...
exellent voice of ravi kumar, he is the real hero of this movie.
another thing is main character of Sayaji Shinde. he is the important character of this movie.
my favourite scene is coconut breaking death scene of jejemma.. -

i love this film very much, after long gap of Anji, Devi, Ammaruuu..well hats of the Director, Story writer, Eidtor, producer, interior designer, camerman , sound man, recorder, lighter and so on...goood yaar keeping moving..and produce more films like that...so many parnominal effects, read x-files and philosphy u can gain new ideas, and new creativity...and apply on mass..........prashanth venkataswamy

whoever said the movie isnt good and anoushka didnt act well can go suck dildos coz ever since i saw anoushka and her performance im in love with her she s done an excellent job and she also looks v cute in those royal robes sonu sood steals the show as does shinde and one thing that bowled me over was d dancer in th movie man she was like super hot where did they find her ? ok ,,, aru u rock and i expect to see many more movies of her like this one and as of those who didnt like her fuck off ....

i have watched this movie.. first time watching movie from this director. basically movie was good.
it collects all the memories of the tales from chandamama and balamitra (i think u peoples knows about this book) story was good.. even there was more scope for graphics. charectors introduction and selection was also good. mainly child jejamma's charector. i don't understand one thing so much of violence was required in the movie?? music was also good. main thing was missing was the heroine selection. her face was lack of expressions.. at least they would have selected some new faces.. anwars acting is very impressive.. -

The movie is absolutely mind blowing,no matter what other people say according to me it is the excellent horror movie in recent times and anushka's acting as jejamma is simply superb.so those who have not seen the movie it is a must watch.

I liked the film very much it was awesome espically her sarees was mindblowing.The ghost acting was also good $ eyes of heroine was also awesome which attracted the viewers $ we wish that the directors give us the same film $ also thank the director $ others who helped in making the film a sucessful one.
