Bomb Blast in Meerut, six people died and several injured

Meerut: At least six people died and several injured in an explosion that took place at the Bengali Basti and Zakir Nagar area of the city this afternoon. The nature of the explosion is yet to be ascertained. However, according to reports dynamite sticks is likely to have caused the explosion. The death toll is likely to rise as many have been critically injured in the expolsion.

Police will investigate as to how a live mortal shell was brought to the scrap, officials said.
The police is also searching the scrap to find out if there are more mortar shells in the garbage.
