The holiday on account of Id-ul-Fitr for Central government offices in the State will be October 1 as in the case of the State government offices and not October 2 as given in the official list of holidays for Central government offices for 2008

When is Eid-Ul-Fitr in 2008

Id-Ul-Fitr is a very important day for Muslims. Id Ul Fitr means 'festival of breaking the fast' and celebrated on the first day after sighting the moon of 'Shawaal' (tenth month of Islamic calendar) that marks the end of the month of Ramdan. In year 2008 Id Ul Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, 1st October
