It's not just Rajinikant. Taking a stand on political and social issues has landed many stars in trouble.
At frist, he raised hackles in Karnataka by asking for the miscreants protesting against the Hogenakkal project to be kicked. Then, on being pressed to tender an apology, he sought the intervention of two big names from the Kannada film fratenity. Recently, he wrote a latter to the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce president, Jayamala, seeking a smooth run of his Kuselan and on the eve of its release, apologised for a mistake he won't be repeating after " a big lesson".
